WEATHER REPORTS.
Masterton: Miss R. Robinson reported as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. yesterday:—Barograph, 30.30; shade temperature, maximum, 62.2; minimum, 46; terrestrial, 44; sunshine, 2 hours 30 minutes.
The Government Meteorologist (Dr. E. Kidson) reported at 4 p.m. yesterday:—An anti-cyclone of slight intensity covers New Zealand, but pressure is still low to the east and is beginning to fall in the south. A rather deep depression is located over Tasmania. Forecast: Winds, light to moderate south-easterlies prevailing north of New Plymouth and Napier; elsewhere winds tending northerly or in the south to north-west. Weather: Some scattered showers still probable at times in north-eastern and northern portions of North Island and later also in extreme south and west, but weather mainly line and rather warmer.
Sun rises, 6.22 a.m.; sets, 6.37 p.m. Lighting-up time, 7.7 p.m.
