“TEN MINUTE ALIBI.”

AND “THE WIND & THE KAIN.”

WILLIAMSON UOMEDtES NEXT WEEK.

“Ten Minute Alibi,” the thrilling dramatic triumph, which is to be staged here by J. C. Williamson’s new London dramatic company at the Regent Theatre on Thursday night next, created a positive sensation in Auckland, where it attracted record audiences during a long season. The second production to be staged on Friday night next is the brilliant comedy “The Wind and the Rain,” which has been running for over twelve months in London. The company which presents “Ten Minute Alibi” is said to be one of the best organisations ever sent on tour by the J. C. Williamson Ltd. management, the leading man Mr. George Thirwell being regarded as one of England’s foremost artists, and Miss Jbselyn Howarth, the best actress Australia has produced in years. A beautifully refined distillate of the inventions of Conan Doyle and Edgar Wallace, with dashes of “Sapper” and Buchan—of the thriller stimulant that folk imbibe openly in the train and the eminent use as a secret nightcap—- “ Ten Minute Alibi” in its prescribed dose of three drops proves a potion of insidious charm. In addition to Mr. George Thirwell and Miss Jocelyn Howarth, the company includes the talented young actor, Mr. Arundel Nixon, who played the role of the murdered man in England, Mr. Frank Bradley, who is regarded as the finest character comedian on the Australian stage, Mr. Harold B. Meade, a well-known London artist, R. L. Atholwood, Tommy Jay, Richard Fair and others. The box plans for “Ten Minute Alibi” and * ‘The Wind and the Rain,” will be opened at Perry’s on Tuesday morning next at nine o’clock.
