PERSONAL.
The many friends of Mrs. W. L. Hunter, Coradine Street, will regret to learn that she has found it necessary to enter the Bowen Street Hospital, Wellington, to undergo an operation. At yesterday’s Oddfellows’ Conference held at Masterton telegrams of greetings were received and reciprocated from P.D.G.M’s. Bros. F. Dennes, Greytown, and A.C. Holms, Waipuknrau.
At its meeting yesterday the Masterton Chamber of Commerce passed a motion of sympathy with its secretary, Mr. H. M. Boddington, who is at present laid aside by illness, and expressed hopes for his speedy recovery.
At the conference of Oddfellows held at Masterton yesterday a vote of condolence was passed to Bro. C. K. Couper, P.D.G.M., whose wife, Sister Couper, died in Wellington yesterday after a lengthy illness. The funeral of the late Mrs. Edgar Nitz took place in Masterton yesterday morning. The large attendance of settlers of the district and residents of Masterton who followed the cortege and the profusion of beautiful wreaths testified to the esteem in which the late Mrs. Nitz was held. The Bev. John Davie officiated at the graveside and the pall-bearers were Messrs if. Thompson, P. Kummer, N. Foreman, F. Reid, W. Gillies and C.C. Cook.
