Robinson reported as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. yesterday: Barograph, 30.20; shade temperature, maximum 60.6, minimum 32, terrestrial, 23.6; sunshine 7 hours 18 minutes; frost, 6.9 degrees. The Government Meteorologist (Dr. E. Kidson) reported at 4 p.m. yesterday as follows: —A shallow westerly depression is crossing New Zealand today while a rather intense anti-cyclone is advancing from south-eastern Australia on to the Tasman. Forecast: Winds northerly from Nelson and Marlborough northwards, southerly thence southwards, southerlies becoming general within the next sixteen hours, force light to moderate, later increasing somewhat. Weather: For the most part fair, but rather changeable, scattered showers likely at times in most districts; temperatures becoming colder.
