MEASURES OF RESTRAINT IN MELBOURNE. NOTICES TO BE POSTED NEXT SEASON. (Received Friday, 9.25 p.m.) MELBOURNE, May 4. Officials of the Melbourne Cricket Club have decided to place notices round the ground next cricket season asking spectators to refrain from offensive barracking during play. The decision has .been cabled to Marylebone. M.C.C. PRESIDENT PLEASED. LONDON, May 3. Acknowledging the Melbourne Cricket Club’s long cable announcing steps to restrain barraekers there, Lord Hailsham replied: “The M.C.C. is very glad to hear that steps are being taken to cheek undue barracking by spectators in Melbourne. The committee welcomes the cable and hopes the steps will prove effective.”
