ROBOT PILOT.
DEMONSTRATION OF BRITISH INVENTION. GREATER SAFETY TN FLIGHT. LONDON, March 9. Caiptain Philip Bailey successfully demonstrated at Croydon a new Robot pilot, the invention of Mr. Pollock Brown, the Scottish engineer, who was responsible for bomb release devices in war time. The Robot, which costs £l5O, weighs 251b5., and (fits a metal box the size of a motor-car battery, is placed in front of tho joy-stick. Its secret is a gyroscope, controlling valves, which distribute hydraulice pressure to cylinders controlling the rudder and elevators.
Captain Bailey deliberately forced down the nose and put the machine from its course. The Robot immediately corrected the flight and also ensured a gradual glide. Captain Bailey has now tested it for 8000 miles and found it always satisfactory.
