CENTENARY AIR RACE
N.Z. REPRESENTATION PLANNED. AERO CLUB MOVE. BLENHEIM, March 10. Mr. G. M. Spence, president of the New Zealand Aero dub, in an interview, stated that the club was placing the matter of New Zealand representation in the Melbourne centenary air race before the constituent clubs with a view to ascertaining the possibility of obtaining the support of the clubs, the and the Government •in providing a suitable machine to enable New Zealand pilots to participate in the race, and afterwards fly to New Zealand. It was proposed that the ownership of the machine should, be retained by New Zealand. He added that the suggestion had originated from the Auckland Aero dub, while the Canterbury Aero dub had made an additional suggestion that a sufficient prize should be oifered by New Zealand to induce all the comp-etitors in the centenary race to participate in the subsequent trans-Tasman race.
Both matters are being fully investigated by the New Zealand Aero dub, which will shortly make a further announcement.—(PA.)'
