MASTERTON COLLIE CLUB.
BUSINESS AT ANNUAL MEETING. ARRANGEMENTS FOR NEXT TRIALS. The annual meeting of the Masterton Collie Club was held last night, the president, Mr. J. M. James, presiding over a good attendance of mqnibers. In moving the adoption of the annual report, Mr. James referred to the great assistance that had again been given to the club by Messrs. G. Shaw, C. J. Bennett and J.,McKay by providing the ground and the sheep for the trials. Without their help, he said, it would not be possible to carry on the trials successfully. Mr. James also referred to the great assistance given by the committee, the members of which had worked splendidly together, and by the secretary, Mr. Madden, who had had all the detail arrangements well in hand.
Several members of the committee paid a tribute to the sterling qualities of their president, Mr. James, who was a tower of strength to the club.

A vote of thanks was passed to Mr. Campbell for his services. It was decided that the 1934 trials be held on April 26, 27 and 26, in accordance with the dates allotted by the North Island Dog Trial Association and that the association he approached in regard to holding a championship meeting in Masterton.
The meeting agreed to run the coming trials on the same lines as last year’s meeting 1 , post entries to be accepted for all events.
Donations of special prizes were received from Messrs. M. J. Wilton and G. Thomson for the maiden man and maiden dog scoring most points in the long head, maiden and short head classes, and similarly for the huntawav and handy events. Mr. F. B. Vallance had also donated a special prize for the maiden competitor working his dog ii. the most workmanlike manner.
