Mrs. F. E. Tyler has been appointed delegate to represent the Carterton branch of the Women’s Christian perance Union at the Convention to b»J held in Wellington shortly.
Mr. Humphrey Callister, a pioneer settler of the Carterton district, yesterday celebrated his 97th birthday. Mr. Callister still enjoys good health and is able to dig and work in his garden. He eame to New Zealand from '.he Isle of Man when. 22 years of age.
