REPORTS ON NEW PLYMOUTH; CONFERENCE. Yesterday’s weekly luncheon of thoMasterton Botany Club joined special interest from the fact that members, heard, from thbir own representatives accounts of myah that took place sxtitherecent Rotary Conference at New Plymouth. For this purpose, the inference proceedings were grouped under four,headings-—(1) Personal, (2) Presidents’ and Secretaries’ group, (3) Crip-, pled childrens ( 4 ) Highlights. The respective representatives dealing with, each subject? were Rotarians A. HL Bate, W. L. Free, B. M. Hodder ud’B. L. P:-Free. O» account of the tine at the disposal of each speaker being strictly limited, it was not pessible for them to do more than touch the fringe of their subjects, but it is hoped that-more will i be, heard st a later date.

In the matter of crippled] a sub-committee consisting of: Rotarians Hodder, W. L. Free and H. M. Peaeoek was set up to gather information preparatory to a general meeting being called.

Mr. S. L. P. Free dealt with several points with which he was greatly impressed’ and which had not been touched upon by previous speakers, giving it as his opinion that the outstanding personality at the conference was tne Chinese representative, Dr. Fong. The membership of the ehib was increased by the installation of Messrs. H. A. R Denderdah-, J. J. Hunter and El R. Rogers. Birthday greetings were extended to Mr. A. E. Bate. This being the last Rotary lenoheon to be attended by Dr. J. A. Cowie prior to his trip overseas, the chib wished both Dr. Helen Cowie and himself a pleasant and beneficial trip and a safe return.
