DUNEDIN POST OFFICE.
NO INTENTION OF DELAY. MINISTER’S ASSURANCE. WELLINGTON, August 29. there is no intention on the part of the Government to delay the construction of the Dunedin Post Office, as suggested yesterday by a telegram from Auckland The Acting Prime Minister (the Bt. Hon. J. G. Coates), replying to a question this afternoon, said the suggestion of delay was altogether Wrong. The Government had made the necessary financial provision for the erection of the building, not only for the present year, but for subsequent years. Tenders *ere before Cabinet, and a contract would probably be let within the next few days. There would be no delay ill pushing ahead with the work so far as the Government was concerned.—(P.A.')
