SPRINGBOKS BEAT AUSTRALIA AT PORT ELIZABETH. VISITORS MOSTLY BOTTLED UP IN OWN TERRITORY. TWENTY THOUSAND SPECTATORS (Received Sunday, 6.30 p.m.) CAPETOWN, August 26. Warm breezy weather prevailed for the fourth Rugby Test, played at Port Elizabeth, when. South Africa beat Australia by 11 points to nil, the half-time score being 5/0. Twenty thousand spectators were present. Turner and Venter were unable to play owing to injuries. The first spell was uneventful, the Africans using the line and winning most of the serums. Poor place kicking by Cowper cost the Wallabies points. After 25 minutes ’ play, White scored a spectacular try, which Osler converted. In the second spell, de Villiers, who suffered a head kick, came on again and Bilman, owing to an ankle injury, joined the pack, , iSturtridge replacing him as fly half. The Springboks continued to dominate play through the forwards. S. Louw 1 scored a try, Ostler failing with the kick, and Brand landed a goal. The Australians were mostly bottled up in their own territory.
