WEATHER REPORTS.
Masterton: Miss R. Robinson reported as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. yesterday.—Barograph 30.10; shade temperature, maximum 57.8, minimum 48.8; terrestrial, 38.4. Mr. H. M.Boddington reports that 4 points of rain were registered at Solnay for the 24 hours up till 9 o 'clock yesterday morning. The Government Meteorologist (Dr. E. Kidson) reported at 4 p.m. yesterday:—The depression which crossed the Dominion on Thursday night has lost its intensity, but a secondary one has since developed off the West Coast; an intense anti cyclone covers the eastern half of Australia, with its centre over Tasmania; forecast, winds southerly from Canterbury southwards, elsewhere northerly at first but southerlies soon becoming general, moderate but increasing in force; weather changeable, with rain at times in most districts, hail on parts of the coast, snow on some of the ranges; temperatures becoming cold, improving soon, however, on the West Coast of the South Island.
