NEW CEURCH ESTABLISHED BY NAZIS. KEYNOTE & CREED OF NARROW NATIONALISM. GLORIFICATION OF MILITARY SERVICE., (Received Friday, 7 p.m.) BERLIN, April 6. The Nazis propose to create a new evangelical church demanding adherence to the following creed: “God made me German; Germanism is a gift of God. God wishes that I should fight for my Germanism. Military service is never in violation of Christianity, hut is obedient to the Will of God.” The tenets of the new creed include one that all Protestants marrying members of an alien race will be expelled from the church. Pastor Wiencke, one of the promoters, says: “Were Christ, to appear on earth. He would be the leader of war on Marxism and internationalism. ’ ’ The abolition of the Old Testament is demanded and the substitution of German sagas and legends in order to replace the Hebrew Prophets by personages in German philosophy and art, ensuring uniformity with the national revolution. This demand has been brought to Herr Hitler’s notice by the church’s supreme council, with a reminder that he guaranteed the church’s independence.
