TEMPERANCE WORK.

MASTERTON W.G.T.U. MEETING. At the monthly meeting of the W.C.T.U., held in Knox Hall yesterday, the mothers of the cradle roll members were entertained. There was a good attendance. Mrs. Jansen gave a very interesting address to mothers. She said that the cradle roll department of the work was of very y/iat importance for it was the of their union, as from it they received members for the L.T.L. Thence they proceeded to the Y’s and then to W.C.T.U. It was interesting to know that 9785 names were on the cradle rolls of the Dominion. There was no office in the world so holy and sacred at motherhood, for not only was the mother's influence with her children but it also left its impression on her grandchildren. The following items were enjoyed: Recitations, Alison Morice, Glen Daysh; song, Joyce Orr; pianoforte duet, Joan Stanley and Shirley Keall; accompaniste, Miss C. Donald. The president asked all members to pray for the mothers of our town every Wednesday morning.
