Masterton: Miss R. Robinson reported at 9 a.m. yesterday: Barograph, 30.50; . shade temperature, maximum 68.8, minimum 51.4; terrestrial, 51.2; .sunshine, 5 hours 6 minutes; rain, 1 point. The Government Meteorologist (Dr. E. Kidson) reported at 4 p.m. yesterday:—The anti-eyelone over New Zealand has intensified since yesterday, while a cyclone is gradually forming on the north coast of New South Wales; forecast, winds, light and variable south of Westport and Kaikoura, moderate to fresh south-easterly to easterly thence northwards; weather still fair to fine generally, with cool to moderate temperatures, but somewhat changeable, with scattered showers on the east coast and the far northern portions of the North Island. Sun rises, 6.12 a.m.; sets, 5.35 p.m. Lighting-up time:—6.s p.m.
