Masterton.: Miss R. Robinson reported at 9 a.m. yesterday: Barograph, 30.38; shade temperature, maximum 74.6, minimum 40.6; terrestrial, 31. f sunshine, 10 hours 18 minutes. The Government Meteorologist (Dr. E. Kidson) reported at 4 p.m. yesterday:—An extensive anti-cyclone still covers the Tasman Sea and New Zealand while a cyclone appears to be developing off the Queensland coast; forecast, winds moderate to strong southerly to south-easterly about and north of Cook Straits and south-wester-ly thence southwards; weather mainly fair to fine and cool, but some showers still probable along the East Coast and in the far north. Sun rises, <5.7 a.m.; sets, 5.42 p.m. Lighting-up time: —6.12 p.m.
