WOMAN KILLED.
THROWN FROM HORSE. WHANGAREH, March 13. Mrs. Edgar Clements, one of the oldest settlers at Matapouri, was killed on Saturday, which was her sixty-second birthday. She and her husband had been out riding, and she was about to dismount in the yard at their home when the wind blew a kerosene tin under her horse, which plunged. Mrs, Clements was thrown off, receiving a fracture at the base of the skull from which she died.—(P.A.)
