Masterton: Miss B. Robinson reported at 9 a.m. yesterday: Barograph, 30.35; shade temperature, maximum 65.2, minimum 51; terrestrial, SLB; sunshine, 2 hours 6 minutes. The Government Meteorologist (Dr. E. Kidson) reported at 4 p.m. yesterday as follows:—A moderate anticyclone has been centred to-day off the east coast of the South Island while a shallow depression has been located on the Tasman Sea . Forecast: Winds, south-easterly about Cook Strait, elsewhere easterly to northerly, moderate to fresh. Weather dull and misty in the North Island and eastern districts of the South Island, with rain in the far north, gradually extending southwards; mainly fair iu western and southern portions of the South Island. Sun rises, 4.44 a.m.; sets, 7.55 p.m. Lighting-up time:—B.2s p.m.
