TASMAN FLIGHT.
KINGSFORD SMITH’S VISIT TO NEW ZEALAND. MASTERTON IN ITINERARY. WELLINGTON, December 20. According to Mr. Wilfred Kingsford Smith, who arrived from Sydney to-day to make arrangements for the visit of his brother in the Southern Cross, one of the mystery passengers for tho Tasamn flight is S. E. Neilson, Secretary of the New Zealand Aero Club and Western Federated Aero Club. Mr. Neilson leaves 'Auckland for Australia by the Monowai on December 29. Mr. Smith states that tho Southern Cross will definitely visit New Plymouth, Auckland, Hamilton, Napier, Hastings, Wanganui, Palmerston North, Levin, Masterton, Blenheim, Christchurch, Ashburton, Timaru, Oamaru, Dunedin and Invercargill. A number of other places will be visited if landing places suitable for a plane of the size of the Southern Cross are available, but no definite decision will be made until an inspection has been made. Towns in this category include Whangarei, Dannevirke. Gisborne, Hawera, Hokitika, Alexandria, and Gore. Sir Charles Kingsford Smith expects to be here till the end of February and it has been practically decided that he will then fly back to Australia. The Ninety Mile Beach has been provisionally chosen as the take-off place.—(P.A.)
