OUTBREAK OF SMALLPOX.
DOZENS OF CASES REPORTED AT COLOMBO.
CALCUTTA, December 18. An outbreak of smallpox has caused Colombo to bo declared an infected port. There are dozens of cases, resulting in a stampede to doctors for vaccination. The cause is a mystery, but the disease is spreading to outstations. Stringent precautions are being taken to prevent passengers on ships in harbour coming in contact with the disease.
