Kidson) reported at 4 p.m. yesterday:—A slight depression has been crossing New Zealand, while an anticyclone is crossing the Sbuth Tasman Sea. Disturbed conditions, with rather low pressure, prevail in the tropics generally. Forecast: Winds, light to fresh variable southerlies prevailing over the South Island. Northerlies at first over the North Island, but changing later to southerlies. Weather still fine and mild at most places, but some isolated local showers possible inland in the South Island.
