Robinson reported at 9 a.m. yesterday: Barograph, 30.30; shade temperature, maximum 80, minimum 50.8; terrestrial, 43; bright sunshine, 11 hours 30 minutes* The Government Meteorologist (Dr. Eu Kidson) reported at 4 p.m. yesterday:—A slight anti-eyclone covers New Zealand to-day and a fresh westerly depression has reached Tasmania; a tropical disturbance centred at the far north of the Dominion, is, however, largely controlling the situation; forecast, winds, variable and mainly light to moderate, northerlies prevailing over the South Island and southerlies over the North; weather fine generally at first and mild, a few showers developing to-morrow in Westland and the far south. Sun rises, 4.43 a.m.; sets, 7.51 p.m. Lighting-up time:—-8.21 p.m.
