"CHEATERS AT PLAY” FINALLY TO-NIGHT. "Cheaters at Play” is to be shown "finally at the Cosy Theatre to-night. Reserves at Vare’s, ’phone 1333. COMING TO-MORROW. "LADIES OF THE BIGi HOUSE.” Sylvia Sidney, whose excellent work in "An American Tragedy” won favourable comment from the critics, has the leading feminine part in Para‘mount’s "Ladies of the Big House," which comes to the Cosy Theatre tomorrow night. This picture is Paramount’s screen version of the story by Ernest Booth, a life-term convict author at Folsom prison. It is a gripping romantic drama of two persons who have run athwart the law and presents a cross-section of the real drama of life within the quarters of a great prison. In "Ladies of the Big House” Miss Sidney has as her leading man, Gene Raymond who gained screen prominence as Nancy Carroll’s leading man in "Personal Maid.?’ One of the outstanding roles is portrayed by Jane Darwell, the Widow Douglas of Paramount’s "Tom Sawyer” and "Huckleberry Finn." The story is that of a young man and woman who become involved with gangsters and are caught and convicted of murder, though innocent. Seats may be reserved at Vare’s, ’phone 1333.
