PROJECTED SIX-DAY FLIGHT. AVIATORS SET OUT. (Received Tuesday, 10.15 p.m.) NEW YORK, July 5. In a projected six-day around the world flight, James Mattern, of Texas, and Bennett Griffin, of Oklahoma, hopped off at 4. a.m. on Tuesday for Harbour Grace, Newfoundland, in an attempt to better Post and Gatty’s around the world flight of eight days, fifteen hours, fifty-one minutes.
