NEW ECONOMY CAMPAIGN.
BRITISH GOVERNMENT’S INTENTIONS. LOCAL BODIES ASKED TO ASSIST. (Received Tuesday, 7 p.m.) LONDON, July 4. The Government in the autumn will launch a new economy campaign. Mr. Neville Chamberlain, Chancellor of the Exchequer, has written to all municipalities in the United Kingdom inviting them to take smiilar action and suggesting the appointment of national committees to consider possible economies over the whole field of expenditure.
