. (Received Tuesday, 7 p.m-) NEW YORK, July 4. The anniversary of the signing ‘of the Declaration of Independence •was celebrated throughout the United States to-day with traditional parades, patriotic ceremon- ‘ les and celebrations. According to 1 an early survey, these were unusually -‘safe and sane.” Only 89 deaths have been reported so ’ far. as compared with 354 last ’ year. The majority of the deaths were due to automobile accidents and drownings, thero being relatively few casualties from fireworks. For example, in New York, there were about five hundred cases of burns, but none were killed, as compared with a thousand injured and two killed in 1931. One was shot and killed in a New York fracas between Fascists and anti-Fascists at the Garafcaldi Memorial.
