Masterton: Miss R. Robinson, reported at 9 a.m. yesterday: Barograph, 30.48; shade temperature, maximum 48.6, minimum 28; terrestrial, 20.8; sunshine, 2 hours 36 minutes; frost, 9.6 degrees.
The Government Meteorologist (Dr. E. Kidson) reported at 4 pan. yesterday: An intense anti-cyclone still covers New Zealand, its centre to-day being located west of the Auckland Peninsula; the forecast is for light to moderate and variable but northerlies, winds predominating south of New and Napier; weather fine generally, but clouds increasing in western and part of the southern districts of the South Island, where later some showers may be expected.
