WEATHER REPORTS.
Masterton.—Miss R. Robinson reported at 0 a.m. yesterday:—Barograph, 30.50. Shade temperature, maximum 44.8: minimum, 37.2. Terrestrial, 30.6. Sunshine, 4 hours. Rain, 55 points. Solway.—Mr. H. M. Boddington reports that 36 points of rain were registered at Solway for the 24 hours up till 9 o’clock yesterday morning. The Government Meteorologist (Dr. E. Kidson) reported at 4 p.m. yesterday:—An intense anti-cyclone covers New Zealand, but the pressure is falling over south-eastern Australia. The forecast is for winds, variable, tending to northerly shortly in and south of Cook Strait. Some showers at first in Poverty Bay and Eiast Cape districts, otherwise fine, but showers developing tomorrow in Westland and the far south. Temperatures cold, with many frosts.
