SENSATIONAL SMASH.
MISHAP AT GOSFQRD RACES. JOCKEYS INJURED.
(Received Tuesday; 8.50 p. m .) SYDNEY/September 1. At tie Gosford races to-day there was a sensational Smiaßh, five Korses coming down. A jockey named Knox had a collarbone’ broken and two bthoi's,- Leahy and McLeod, were injured internally. It is believed that they •Were trampled upon. Another one, White, was stunned but' soon recovered. Two horses, Mass Fort and Lady Backwood, were seriously injured. The field was approaching the twn when the leader, Lady Backwood, fell bringing down four others.
