MABTINBOBOUGH TOURNAMENT. Although, the weather on Good Friday was bad nearly everywhere in the Wairarapa, it was fairly good in Martinborough, _ which is not affected very much when the wind is from the 'north. There was a very light drizzle, but not sufficient to interfere with play and the green was in really good order. The tournament was won by a Carterton rink composed of comparatively young players, skipped by Simmonds, which won 5 games out of 6, and the players are to be congratulated on their fine performance. At the conclusion of the play, Mr. Carter, vice-president of the Centre congratulated the winners, and also expressed the sincere apreciation of all of the players for the excellent morning and afternoon tea which wias provided by the ladies, for whom three hearty cheers were given. Mr. Carter also stated that the tournament had been a thorough success in every way, and he hoped that it would be made an annual fixture. PBAGNELL CUP. Mr. G. Hart, of the Carterton Bowling Club, on Wednesday last followed a challenge to Greytown for the Pragncll Cup, where he defeated the holder, Roche, by 22- points to 10, with two unfinished heads to play.
