R101 DISASTER.
FURTHER EVIDENCE GIVEN BY SURVIVORS. AIRSHIP DIVES TWICE. LONDON, November 3. The inquiry in the RlOl disaster was resumed. A survivor, Bell, gave evidence that he was in the aft car with Banks at 2.5 a.m. The ship made a dive of about 25 to 30 seconds, and then got on an even keel for about five seconds. She, dived again for about twenty seconds. He immediately received a telegraph message from the control ear to go slow. He had time to put the engine to slow before the airship struck the ground. When she hit it was not a violent jerk. Then came an explosion and in a few seconds everything was surrounded with flames. The tanks burst and water came pouring over them.
