Masterton: Miss R. Robinson reported at 9 a.m. yesterday: Barograph, 30.42; shade temperature, maximum 46.4, minimum 39.6; terrestrial, 35; rain 40 points. Solway: Mr. H...M. Boddington reports that 34 points of rain were registered at Solway for the 24 hours up till nine o’clock yesterday morning. Sun rises, 6.37 a.rn.; sun sets, 5.26 pan. The Government Meteorologist (Dr. Kidson) reported at 4 p.m. yesterday: The barometers arc fairly high over New Zealand, but a depression is centred near Lord Howe Island. Forecast: Winds light to moderate and variable with easterly to northerly prevailing and freshening in the North. Weather mainly fair to fine but cloudy and misty at times in the Northern and East Coast districts of the North Island with scattered showers. Cool to mod-’ erate temperatures.
