ATHLETICS IN AMERICA. ' NEW YORK, August 24. A message from Glendale (California) states that it was announced today at the Pittsburg National Track and Championships that Frank Wykoff had broken his ankle. Paul < T es.-up (Seattle) threw the discus 169 feet a 7-8 inches, a new world record. Toian defeated Simpson in the hundred yards in 9 7-10 sec. Simpson defeated Toian in the 220 yards in 21 3-ssec. (an American record). Steve Anderson (Seattle) equalled the world record of 14 2-ssee. for 120.
