MEETING OF WAIRARAPA EXECUTIVE. THE HOUSEKEEPING SCHEME. The quarterly council meeting of the Wairarapa Provincial Executive of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union was held in Masterton yesterday. There were present Mesdames A. Clark (in the chair), C. C. Jackson, W. Bunny, D. Cameron, Alex Donald, W. James and Misses Heckler, Robieson and McKain. Apologies for absence were received from the Greytown, Pahiatua and Tinui delegates. It was reported that excellent work continued to be carried out with the housekeeping scheme in the Wairarapa, but unfortunately three housekeepers had left the service for various reasons. However, others had taken up the work. An invitation was received for members to attend a birthday party to be held at Mauriceville in October by the Mauriceville-Ihuraaa branch. After hearing an address by Mr. L. * H. McAlpine, Dominion Organiser of the Farmers ’ Union, regarding the projected establishment of a Fanners' Union journal, the executive discussed the proposal. MASTERTON BRANCH. A well-attended meeting of the Masterton branch of the Women’s ▼ Division was held yesterday afternoon, Mrs A. Donald, president, in the chair. A number of members of the Farmers’ Union were present by invitation, together with Mr. McAlpine (Dominion Organiser), who spoke on the proposal to establish a Farmers’ Union journal and invited members of the Women’s Division to assist in obtaining subscriptions. Members were invited to send in parcels of gift clothing, for the relief of people in need in the country districts. Parcels may be left at the Rooms, Perry ■Street. It was agreed that the branch, with other Wairarapa branches, should assist at a garden party to be held at. Martinboruugh at the end of September.
