Kidson) reported at 4 p.m. yesterday:—The cyclone is now centred south of Chatham Island and is very intense; a moderate anti-cyclone is ad vanning over the Tasman Sea, but the pressure is again falling over eastern Australia; the forecast is for winds, south west to southerly and strong to gale force; seas rough generally; weather improving in western districts from Taranaki southwards, elsewhere cold, squally and showery, snow on the high country.
