FEATHERSTON. (The "Age” Special.) Mr and Mrs J. Jepson, South Featherston, accompanied by Mrs Pycroft are at present on a holiday visit to Napier. Mr and Mrs H. R. Burt, Featherston, are on a visit to Wellington. Miniature Rifles. An inter-club match between the Greytown and South Featherston Miniature Rifles Clubs, held at Greytown, was won by South Featherston, by 37 points. The following are the scores:—South Featherston: M. Hodder, 100; A. Bain, 100; C. Bain, 99; L. G. Rasmussen, 98; M. Crom, 97; L. Lumsden, 96; A. Gain, 96; P. Wilton, 94; R. Jepson, 93; A. Ashworth, 92. Greytown: P. Bouzaid, 96; W. Leppmn 96; R. Hills, 96; H. Vnrnham, 95; Morgan, 94; Tilson, 93; O. Morgan, 92; R. Knowles, 90; Sadler, 89; Mrs Tilson, 87. The winners of the Gold Buttons last week were: Men, Mr. W. Johnson; ladies, Miss M. Habib and Mrs Crawford (tie). A second club trophy shoot was completed last week the winners being: A. Hodder 99, 99, 100, first; Mrs Crawford and J. C. Nix 99, 99, 98, second (tie). Euchre. There was a fair attendance at the Pahautea Euchre and Dance held on Saturday night. The euchre prizes were won by: Ladies, Mrs. R. Williams, 1'; Mrs McArdle, 2. Men: Mr. F. Duffy, 1; Mrs Bentley, 2. The aggregate prizes were won by Mrs McArdle and Mr. J. Fenwick. The music for the dancing was supplied by Mr. F. Duffy, while Mr. Rika played an extra. * Golf. The Varterton and Featherston Golf Clubs played an inter-club match at Featherston on Saturday, when Featherston won three games and lost two and halved three. The following are the results (Carterton mentioned first): Taverner and Steel beat Rowles and Shepherd, Shankland and Dudson lost to Allan and Nicholson, H. Ward and Boss halved with Bloxam and Card, Brown and George halved with Benton and Crawford, Hart and Keenan lost to Kibblewhite and Lawson, L. Aplin and G. Ward halved with Kenyan and Lang, A. Aplin and Lawrence beat Trustram and Hardie, Kiddie and Stubbs lost to Ward and O’Neale.
MARTINBOROUGH. (The "Age” Special.) Mrs Parsons, who has been a patient at Tiri Hospital has returned to her home at Tawaha. Miss Edna Robinson, who is on tha staff of the Karitane Hospital, Wellington, is spending a few days with her parents. Miss Mary Robinson leaves in a few days • for Nelson, where she will be the guest of Mrs Davies. Miss Marjorie Stephenson, lately of Masterton, has taken up her residence in Mjartinborough. The local High School is busy with a Queen Carnival in aid of their funds. Mr and Mrs Daysh have returned from a fortnight’s holiday spent in Wellington. Mrs Campbell Smith is at present an inmate of Tiri Hospital.
