OVERDOSE OF COCAINE
CAUSE OF WOMAN’S DEATH. POLICE BELIEF. (Received Wednesday, 7 p.m.) LONDON, June 3. It is believed that Mrs. Whitehouse died as the result of an extremely heavy overdose of cocaine. The police believe that the woman was deliberately doped during supper, though there is also evidence that she was a drug addict.
(A cablegram received on May 24 stated that the dead body of Mrs. Carrie Whitehouse was found partly dressed on the open road at Manchester. There was no evidence of violence or foul play. Her husband, Captain Whitehouse, whom she married in 19-13, was believed to be in New Zealand. Mrs. Whitehouse lived alone in an apartment house in Manchester.)
