LEAGUE OF MOTHERS.
ADDRESS BY DR. HELEN COWIE. VISIT OF HER EXCELLENCY. An enthusiastic meeting of the Maaterton branch of the League of Mothers was held yesterday afternoon, Mrs. L. B. Maunsell occupying the chair. Several new members were enrolled. Dr. Helen Cowie gave an interesting address on “The Parent and the Child.” She spoke of how the younger generation of the present day was inclined to take liberty in both hands, and the necessity of parents endeavouring to gain their confldenee. Arrangements were made in connection with the visit of Her Excellency Lady Alice Fergusson on September 25, on which occasion an address will be given by Her Excellency to members of the league.
