SOLDIER SETTLEMENT.
HEAVY LOSS IN AUSTRALIA. IMPOSSIBLE LOAD OF DEBT. CANBERRA, August 8. Mr. Justice Pike, after a long inquiry, has forwarded to the Federal Government a report on soldier settlements. Judge found that the load of debt the soldiers had to carry made it impossible for them to carry on successfully. The total loss is estimated at £23,s2s,s22.—(Australian Press Association.)
