Masterton. —Mr. R. Brown reported at 9 a.m. yesterday: Barograph, 30; shade temperature: maximum 49.6, minimum 39; terrestrial, 30.4; rain, 1 point; sunshine, 5 hours 8 minutes.
The Government Meteorologist (Dr. E. Kidson) reported at 4 p.m. yesterday:—The cyclone has moved rapidly eastward, a rather intense anti-cyclone is centred near Sydney. Winds, southwest to south, moderate to fesh but decreasing. Seas: rough at first about East Gape but otherwise moderate generally. Weather: isolated showers on eastern and southern coast lines but otherwise fine. Cold night temperatures with inland frosts Prospects for the week-end are favourable. Lightirg-up time:-#-5.33 p.m.
