CARTERTON BALL.

GREAT SUCCESS OF ANNUAL FUNCTION. EFFECTIVE DECORATIVE SCHEME The King’s Theatre, Carterton, was the scene last evening of a most successful function—the annual ball of the Carterton Golf and Tennis clubs. There was an attendance of about four hundred from all parts of the district and also Wellington. The hall was beautifully decorated with pink, lemon and mauve balloons and streamers, greenery, palms and pot plants, etc., being placed artistically around the hall and also in the sittingout areas. The walls were thickly draped with green streamers and the lights shaded with beautiful Oriental lamps. The ceiling was thickly hung with streamers. The stage was decorated with greenery and painted scenery, which formed a delightful background for the orchestra, conducted by Mr. Manuel Hyman, who delighted the dancers with excellent music. The supper room decorations were carried out in a similar way. Those in charge of the beautiful and effective decorations were Messrs. H. Hall and J. Steel and committee. Miss M. Skelley and Mr. Ross capably carried out the positions of joint-secretaries. The supper arrangements were in the hands of Mrs. J. Steel and committee. The hostesses ware Mesdames W. H.
