SCOUTS AND CUBS

AN ENJOYABLE GATHERING. BPOBTS ON SATURDAY. RUNNING AND SWIMMING I EVENTS. I A large number of Scouts and Cuba Ibelonging to W enrsps troops and ;>aeks gathered in Mustertou on Saturday. In every way the gathering was a huge success. Swimming sports and running evepts formed a large part of the programme, and at the clone of the afternoon stvera, Scouts belonging to Carterton and Maslerton Troops were invested during the usual Scout Investiture ceremony. The Maetertou Scout* invested were John Seraneke, Jim Serancke, Henry Carle, and Bertie Johns. Each of these lads han been

successful in passing for bis tenderfoot badge. At the close of the afternoon a cheers were given for the visitors, and s for all who assisted to make the day a psuccess--special mention being made of rthe following gentlemen who conducted and judged the swimming and Unitming events—Messrs C. M. Strouts, j;G. McKay. A. H. Brennan, J. A. Smith fend F. G. Rob’ ie. The Carterton troop .proved to be, the winners for the Scout iTrophy, white Masterton Cubs were B | victorious in the Cub Event*.
