COMING FESTIVAL.
MASTERTON OOMPETITIONS SOCIETY. ENTRIES CLOSE APRIL 30. Indications of interest from far and wide have been evident for some time l and point to the 1929 festival of thel Masterton Competitions Society being 1 even a greater success than that of 1 last year. The festival will be held I from May 20 to May 25. Entries close 1 on April 30, which gives the executive' plenty of time to arrange the timetable' definitely and so distribute the work 1 evenly throughout the week. Late en- ; tries will not be accepted, as they only • disarrange the programme. Everyone . should know by April 30 whether ho or , she is going to enter or not and act accordingly. Competitors in the piano ' duets should note that in Class 53 the test is number one, and in class 54 it is . the Hungarian Dance No. 1, not No. 5,, as printed. As the Navy League reci- j tation is a test item, the restriction in, regard to previous winners is lifted. ; Arrangements are again being made < to give a demonstration concert at i Carterton, and judging from last year’s, success it should thoroughly tax the. seating accommodation of the Tivoli Theatre.
