ACTIVITIES OF MARKETING BOARD. LONDON, March 20. In the House of Commons, Mr. C. Drew (Con.) said that the time had arrived to broaden the activities of the Empire Marketing Board. Mr. C. Duncan (Lab.): “Our motor cars are not selling as they should overseas. ’ ’ The Hon. W. G. A. Ormsby-Gore-(Colonial Under-Secretary) said the Empire Marketing Board was restricted to marketing agricultural produce, and the extension of its functions to the sale af manufactures here and overseas would change its whole character. Industry would have to be represented, and the board placed under an overseas trade department. There was no doubt that the future development of Empire trade would be one of the most important subjects dealt with at the next Imperial Conference. —(Australian Press Association.—United Service.)
