WEDDINGS.

CABTER—JACKSON A large number of guests attended the wedding at Kopuaranga yesterday of Mias Lynd-all Churchill Jackson-, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs C. C. Jackson, of Kopuaranga, and Mr William j Percy Carter, of Maui<:evilk, only son| of the late Mr and Mrs Carter, of Auckland. The Rev. John Davie per ? formed the ceremony in the Kopuaran- 1 ga. Church, which had been beautifully decorated for the occasion by girl ’ friends of the bride. Miss Maisie < Wright acted as organist. i The bride, who > given away by her father, was charmingly attired in as French embroidered dress of white); georgette, adorned with old hand-made!; lace. She wore the usual veil and car ) ried a beautiful bouquet of orange / (blossoms. She was attended by twor bridesmaids, of v.honi Miss Roma Jack I (son (sister of the bride) wore a French ) dress of blue taffeta embroidered with ? roses, and Miss Edith Bennett | ((daughter of Mr and Mrs Guthrie; Smith' a dress of pink taffeta embroid- 1 |ered with blue roses. The bride’s go- ( ing-away dress was of maroon chenille velvet and she wore a smart tweed) coat trimmed with leather and black: hat. Mr H. A. R. Dunderdale acted as best man, and Mr Ivan Jackson, brother of the bride, as groomsman. After the ceremony, Mr and Mrs Jackson entertained their numerous guests at a wedding breakfast in. a large marquee, '■-pecially erected for the occasion and decorated with lycopodium and baskets of flowers. The wedding cake was made by the bride. The Rev. J. Davie felicitously proposed the health of the bride, the bridegroom res ponding. The health of the bridesmaids was propoised by Mr E. J. Wright, and that of the bride’s parents by Mr G. R. Sykes M.P., Mr C. C. Jackson responding. The health of the bridegroom's motjier, who- was present, was pro-posed by Mr Percy Jackson. Miss Bessie Shaw and Miss Rita Reynolds attended the bride, wearing charming frocks o*f mauve charmont and mariette, with headdress to tone |and carried bouquets of mauve carnations and lilies. Audrey, Jocelyn, and Rjhoda, sisters of the bride, and Nancy Brown were flower girls in dainty frocks of tulle salmon mariette frilled to the waist, with head-dreisses to . match and carried bouquets of pate pink roses and carnations. - ' • Mr William Hay, Wellington, wan best man and Mr Jack Burling, brother of the bride, attended as groomsman. Mr E. C. Gleai officiated at the organ. | After rhe ceremony a reception was held at the residence of the bride's parents, where some 250 guests, from all parts of the North Island, were en tertained.. The guests were received by the bride’s mother, beautifully frocked in fawn mariette embroidered in pastel shades, with hat and shoes to tone and carried a bouquet of roses, carnation..- and orchidia The bridegroom's mother wore a charming frock of black embossed mariette over n pale :nnk under-dress and had a bouquet of violet lilies and pink carnations. The many and varied toasts were honoured in the usual style and then dancing, interspersed by vocal items, was indulged in till a late hour. Mr and Mrs Shaw, who were the recipients of many handsome and costly presents, left by motor for the north, Mrs Shaw wearing a beautiful travelling frock of beige embroidered mar■jette, with hat and shoes to tone and a handsome Ottoman and fur coat. ■
