SOLWAY AND ST. MATTHEW’S. A tennis team from Solway College played a match against a team representing the St. Matthew’s Collegiate School for Girls, at St. Matthew’s, yesterday. Solway won seven matches to two, and 49 games to 41. Following are detail results (Colway players mentioned first in all cases): —• Singles.—W. Mackintosh beat V. Rutherford, 6/5; M. Slater beat M. beetham, 6/4; M. Butler heat B. Baird, 6/5; I. Pettit beat J. Hornabrook, 6/4; N. McLaren beat V. Rishworth, 6/5; J. White lost to S. Collins, 2/6. Doubles.—W. Mackintosh and M. Slater beat V. Rutherford and M. Beetham, 6/5; M. Butler and I. Pettitj lost to B. Baird and J. Hornabrook, 5/6; N. McLaren and J. White beat V. Rishworth and S. Collins, 6/1.
