A MOTOR SMASH.
VIOLENT COLLISION IN LONDON (Received Monday, 7 p.m.) LONDON, March 18. Professor Stuart, a visitor from Australia, driving on Sunday afternoon in a taxi to Sir Hugo Hurst’s house in Park Lane, with his wife and daughter. came into collision with a motor car in. Grosvenor Square. So violent was the impact that the body of the taxi was wrenched from the chassis. Mrs and Miss Stuart were pinned underneath the wreckage. Miss Stuart was extricated unconscious and taken to St. George’s Hospital. The professor was cut and bruised about the head, |but was able to telephone to Sir Hugo Hurst, explaining his inability to keep bis appointment.—(Australian Press Association—United Service.)
