The origin of the expression “Raining cats and dogs ’ ’ is explained by the fact that in the Northern .Mythology the cat was supposed to have great influence cn the weather and the dbg was a signal of wind. ’U’Le cat symbolises the down-pouring rain and the dog the strong gusts of wind.
