MAIL ROBBERY
CHARGES AGAINST FOUR MEN GORDON AND BEVAN ADMIT THEFTS TWO BROTHERS PLEAD NOT GUILTY WELLINGTON, March 15. The case in which. Thomas Gordon, Arthur Henry William Bevan, Richard Ryan, and George Wilfred Ryan are charged with having stolen sums of money and articles from. postal packets, of a total value of £lB4 5s sd, was advanced a further stage before Mr F. K. Hunt, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court this morning. Gordon and Bevan, who pleaded guilty, were committed to the Supreme Court for sentence, while the two Ryans, who pleaded not guilty, were committed, to rhe Supremo Court for trial. Richard Ryan -aTnd Bevan were again allowed bail, but bail was refused Gordon, anad George Ryan. In respect of the latter, the Magistrate said that the application for bail could be renewed later.—(P.A.)
